December is upon us and it's feeling cold and wintry this week, with the first proper ice- scraping of car windows this morning, therefore the perfect time of year for Hot Chocolate and I've just discovered a new one. Claiming to be delicious and nutritious it contains Turmeric, Ginger and Cinnamon and of course good dark chocolate. The recipe has coconut milk and coconut oil but if, like me, you have someone in the house who has a thing about coconut then it also works with cow's milk, you just don't get the health benefits of the coconut but still get a good tasting hot chocolate and the anti-oxidant benefits of the other additions - yum!
Ingredients:16 ounces unsweetened vanilla coconut milk, 1 Tbsp. + 1 tsp. cocoa powder, 3/4 tsp. ground turmeric, 1/4 tsp. ground ginger, 1 tsp. Ceylon cinnamon, Pinch of black pepper & ground nutmeg, 2 tsp. local raw honey, 2-3 tsp. coconut oil
