More research backs the health benefits of chocolate (dark not milk).
As I eat, sleep and breathe chocolate it's always good to see research concluding that dark chocolate is good for us - sadly, not as your only food intake, but as part of a balanced diet!
This article compares antioxidant levels ( the molecules that help your body fight off harmful free radicals) and has dark chocolate top of the list of those that beat the levels of blueberries, which I've always thought of as one of the highest. Don't ditch the blueberries though, they are still super good for you, just dip them in dark chocolate for even more benefits.
Other foods to make the list were walnuts and pecans, both containing high levels of vitamin E and contributing to decreased risk of chronic diseases and improved gut and brain health and also pairing nicely with chocolate.
